The short version
Moving a domain to us takes a few minutes of your time. We do the rest, and email you when the transfer starts and when it's done.
.com, .net, .org and most others
- At your current provider, unlock the domain and get its transfer code (also called an EPP or auth code). Step-by-step guides: GoDaddy · 123-reg · Names.co.uk · IONOS · Namecheap · Fasthosts · Krystal · Squarespace · Wix.
- On our transfer page, enter the domain. We look it up and show the price, which adds a year to your current expiry date.
- Enter the code and pay. Your current provider may email you to approve the move; approving it speeds things up.
- Most transfers finish in 5–7 days. You can follow it under Services in your account.
A domain registered or transferred less than 60 days ago can't move yet. The transfer page tells you the date it can.
.co.uk and .uk
- At your current provider, unlock the domain, then change its IPS tag to
ENOM. Some providers refuse the tag change while the domain is still locked, without saying why. - Signed in to your account, enter the domain on our transfer page and press Check and bring it across.
- That's it. Moving a .uk is free, your expiry date stays the same, and it can arrive within minutes.
If the domain expires within 90 days, send us a request from the same page instead: it's renewed as part of the move, and we confirm the cost with you first.
Your website and email
A transfer moves the domain name, not your website or email. If your current provider also runs the domain's DNS, they may remove it once the domain leaves.
