Taken automatically and kept for you. You can restore one yourself from your account, which is usually the quickest way out of a change that went wrong.
The padlock, free
Free SSL on every domain, so visitors see https and the padlock. It renews itself. There is no separate certificate to buy.

What belongs to you
The website itself is yours
The words, the pictures, the layout and the code are your property, exactly as they would be with any host. We do not hold them hostage, brand them, or charge you to get them back.
That also means the website is yours to look after. If a plugin you installed breaks a page, or a change goes wrong, that is inside your site rather than on our server — so it is not something we can be responsible for. We will still tell you what we can see, and yesterday's backup is usually a one-click fix.
Your domain name is yours too. It is billed separately from hosting, and you can move it whenever you like.
You can leave whenever you want

Three ways to change your website.
Once the site is live, this is the part people are least sure about. There is no wrong answer, and you can switch between them.
1. Whoever built it
If a friend, a designer or an agency built your site, they carry on exactly as before. If they work in GitHub, turn on GitHub Sync and every change they publish appears on your domain within the hour, on its own. It is free with your hosting.
2. Yourself, with AI

3. Ask us
If you would rather hand it over, tell us what you need. We will give you a price before any work starts, so you always know in advance. Small things we can often just sort out. Asking never costs anything.

I have just paid. What happens next?
Your account is created as soon as the payment clears and we email you a link to sign in. Point your domain at our nameservers, ns1.gravityhost.co.uk and ns2.gravityhost.co.uk, and your site can go live. If you are not sure how, send us a message and we will talk you through it or do it with you.
I do not have a password. How do I sign in?
You do not need one. On the sign-in page, enter your email address and choose Send magic link. We email you a link that signs you straight in. You can set a password later in your account settings if you would rather have one.
Do I get email at my own domain?
Yes, and it is included. You can have hello@yourbusiness.co.uk, your own name, or as many addresses as you like, and they can all land in one inbox. They can forward to an inbox you already use, so there is nothing new to check. Website files and email share your plan's storage.
Who owns my website?
You do. The words, the pictures, the design and the code are yours, exactly as they would be with any host. You can download them at any time, and if you ever move to another company you take the site with you.
Will you make changes to my website for me?
We can, and we will always give you a price before any work starts. Changing your website is not part of the hosting plan, because the hosting is the server your site sits on rather than the site itself. Small things we can often just sort out. For anything bigger, tell us what you need and we will quote for it.
Someone else built my site. Can I keep using them?
Yes, and nothing changes for them. If they work in GitHub, GitHub Sync copies each new version onto your hosting automatically, so their change appears on your domain within the hour. It is free with your hosting.
Can I change the site myself using AI?

Can I keep the other tools I already use?
Yes. A booking link, a newsletter tool or a shop you already pay for will carry on working. Because you have real hosting you also have the option of running a free open-source alternative on your own site instead — there are over 200 to install in one click. There is no pressure to change anything.
What if my website breaks?
We take a backup of your hosting every day and you can restore one yourself. If the problem is the server, that is ours to fix and we will fix it. If the problem is something inside the website — a plugin, a theme, a change that went wrong — we will tell you what we can see, and restoring yesterday's backup usually sorts it.
Can I leave later?
Yes. There is no long contract. Hosting has a 30-day money-back guarantee, you can change your plan size whenever you like, and your website and email are yours to take elsewhere. Domain names are billed separately from hosting.
