Consultants, trainers and coaches

You will be googled before anyone books a call.

When you sell your own expertise, the website is the credibility check. Someone has been given your name, they look you up, and in about four seconds they decide whether you look like a business or a hobby. Hosting that stands up to that costs £45 for your first year.

15 GB, email at your own name, daily backups and free SSL. Then £75 a year.

Four pages and an address

Less than you think, done properly.

Independent consultants rarely need a big website. They need a small one that answers the questions a buyer has before they will give up half an hour.

Who you are

Your name, your face, your background. In this line of work people are buying you rather than a product, and an anonymous site is a reason to hesitate.

What you actually do

Named services in plain words, so a manager can tell whether you solve their problem without having to interpret anything.

Proof you have done it

A named client, a short case study, a real result. Add these as you earn them — the site is yours to edit whenever you like.

An address that matches

you@yourconsultancy.co.uk, included. A free webmail address on a proposal to a large organisation quietly costs you work.

A way to book you

A form, a phone number, or the booking link you already use. Keep whatever you have, or run a free open-source booking tool on your own hosting.

The padlock

Free SSL on every domain. A browser warning on the page where someone was about to enquire is the most expensive kind of small problem.

Selling to bigger organisations

Looking established is part of the job

If your buyers are other businesses, and especially if some of them are large, you are quietly assessed on things that have nothing to do with your expertise. Whether your email matches your domain. Whether your site loads over https. Whether there is a real company behind it.

None of that makes you better at the work. It does decide whether you get to demonstrate that you are. It is worth ten minutes to get right and then never think about again.

Where your clients meet

An awful lot of organisations now hold every external meeting in Microsoft Teams, and the bigger they are the more likely it is the only option they will offer you. Being reachable that way is straightforward, and it does not mean moving your website: your site can stay here while your email and Teams run on Microsoft 365.

However you want to build it

Four routes, all included.

Consultants tend to arrive with a site already half-built, or with strong opinions about not building one. Both are fine.

Our Website Builder

Free with hosting. Pick a template, put your own words in, publish. Quickest route if you want it live this week.

WordPress

One click, no extra charge. Sensible if you plan to write regularly, or if the person who helps you already knows it.

Describe it to an AI

Increasingly how these sites get made. Our plain-English guide covers it, including getting the result onto hosting you own.

Someone else builds it

If they work in GitHub, GitHub Sync copies each new version onto your hosting within the hour, free. They carry on as before.

If you do web work for other people yourself — WordPress management, development, marketing retainers — the same account holds as many sites as you like, with cPanel, PHP, MySQL, File Manager and FTP. Nothing here charges per site.

What it costs

£45, then £75 a year

15 GB of UK hosting, email at your own domain, daily backups, free SSL and the Website Builder. £45 for your first year, then £75 a year. A .co.uk domain is £10 a year, a .com £15, and both cost the same to renew as to register.

No long contract, a 30-day money-back guarantee on hosting, and you can change your plan size whenever you like. If you ever leave, the site and the email are yours to take.

Support is by message or ticket and a real person in the UK reads it. Asking a question is free, whatever it is about.

Before you get started

Questions consultants ask.

I only need a few pages. Is this overkill?

No. Most consultants need exactly that: who you are, what you do, proof you have done it, and a way to get in touch. The plan is the same whether the site is four pages or forty, and the price does not change with visitor numbers.

Can my email address match my domain?

Yes, and it is included. you@yourconsultancy.co.uk instead of a free webmail address, which matters more in this line of work than almost any other — it is often the first thing a procurement team notices. If your clients live in Teams and Outlook, you can also run your email through Microsoft 365 while the website stays with us.

I already have a site someone built for me. Can I move it?

Usually yes, and moving it is included. Tell us how it was built and we will check it first. If it was made with an AI tool or published to a free host, that is common now and we have a guide for exactly that.

Who updates it when my services change?

Whoever you like. Do it yourself in our free Website Builder or in WordPress, describe the change to an AI, keep using the person who built it, or ask us for a price. What's included sets out who does what, plainly.

Do I need WordPress?

Not unless you want it. It installs in one click and plenty of consultants use it for a blog or case studies. Our own Website Builder is free with hosting and quicker if you just need a handful of solid pages. There are also over 200 other free apps, including booking tools if you sell sessions.

Can I take bookings or send a newsletter?

Yes. Keep the booking link or mailing tool you already pay for, or install a free open-source alternative on your own hosting. Because you have PHP and a database, the choice is genuinely yours rather than limited to what a website builder allows.

What if a big client asks about my hosting?

It happens, especially with public-sector and enterprise buyers. Your site is on UK servers, has free SSL so it loads over https, is backed up daily, and you can point at a real company with a registered address. That is usually the end of the conversation.

What does it cost?

15 GB of hosting with email is £45 for your first year, then £75 a year. A .co.uk domain is £10 a year and a .com is £15, both the same price to renew as to register. There is no long contract and hosting has a 30-day money-back guarantee.
