Domain Renewal Notifications — What to Expect

36 views Published 26 Mar 2026 Updated 27 Mar 2026

How Domain Renewal Notifications Work

To ensure you never lose your domain, Gravity Host sends automatic renewal reminders before your domain registration expires. This is in line with ICANN registrar requirements.

When You'll Hear From Us

We send renewal notifications at three key intervals:

  • 30 days before expiry — An email letting you know your domain is coming up for renewal, with the renewal date and cost.
  • 7 days before expiry — An email and SMS reminder with a direct payment link.
  • 1 day before expiry — A final email and SMS with an urgent reminder.

What Happens If You Don't Renew?

If a domain is not renewed before the expiry date, it enters a grace period (usually 30 days) during which it can still be renewed at the standard price. After the grace period, the domain may be released and become available for anyone to register.

How to Renew

Every renewal notification includes a payment link. You can pay by:

  • Card payment — Click the payment link in your email or log in to your billing page
  • Bank transfer — Use the bank details provided in your account
  • Automatic billing — Set up auto-pay in your account to never miss a renewal

Already Renewed?

If you've already paid, you can safely ignore the reminder. Our system checks for payment before sending each notification, so you won't receive unnecessary messages.
